GET TO KNOW KACEY D. HANNA
Kacey D. Hanna brings a strong foundation in advocacy, communication, and client service to her work as a criminal defense attorney. A graduate of UNT Dallas College of Law, Kacey began her legal career with a firm she already knew and respected. Having worked alongside the attorneys at Chris Lewis + Associates before becoming an attorney, she was excited for the opportunity to return and continue learning from the team that helped shape her path into the practice of law.
Kacey’s relationship with the firm began during law school, when she spent two summers as a legal intern with Chris Lewis + Associates. During that time, she gained hands-on experience working alongside experienced attorneys on complex litigation and was involved in trial preparation, depositions, mediations, court proceedings, and client matters. Those experiences gave her firsthand insight into the preparation, dedication, and attention to detail required to effectively advocate for clients—and ultimately inspired her to return to the firm as an attorney.
While in law school, Kacey also externed with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, where she gained valuable insight into the criminal justice system from the prosecution’s perspective. Combined with her experience at Chris Lewis + Associates, this exposure gave Kacey a well-rounded understanding of the criminal justice process and deepened her commitment to criminal defense.
Before pursuing a career in law, Kacey worked as an English teacher. Her time in the classroom taught her the importance of listening carefully, communicating clearly, preparing thoroughly, and meeting people where they are. She brings those same skills to her work with clients today. Kacey believes effective advocacy starts with understanding each client’s unique circumstances and ensuring they feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the legal process.
Outside the Office
When she’s away from the office, Kacey enjoys relaxing by the pool with a good book, cheering on the Dallas Stars, and searching for unique finds at estate sales. She also loves spending time with family and friends and making the most of the moments outside the courtroom.
